Server Rack

This Gateway Server Rack is one of the best looking, and functionally the nicest we have seen. This rack has several features that I wish they would all incorporate. In addition to a sturdy locking front and rear door, this rack features fully movable front and rear rail supports. This allows virtually any size equipment, or accessory, to be mounted, using almost anyone's rails. Also, in addition to this, it has a third set of rear accessory rail supports, which extend from the floor to ceiling of the cabinet, and which may be independently positioned. These can all be relocated with a simple hex key, to allow shorter accessories to be combined with longer appliances, such as servers, without the fuss of securing long, sometimes unwieldy, and always expensive, rails. Having a bit of experience installing non-standard equipment in cabinets, I can tell you this is a very nice, and uncommon, feature! The smoked glass front door allows easy viewing of your equipment. There is a large and powerful ventilation fan mounted in the top of the rack. The rack includes outrigger legs on the front, which can be extended to reduce the risk of the cabinet tipping forward when heavier equipment is racked out for service. This rack is open on the sides, to allow multiple units to be bolted together. It includes the mounting flanges for this purpose, shown attached. These could be removed and sides attached. Sides are not included, however. It also has a cable access port in the floor. For some reason, this is lacking on many racks. I wonder how they think you are going to route your cables in and out?

The exterior dimensions are 22 x 38 x 83". The Interior dimension, from front rail support to rear, is 34". Of course, there is an inch, or more, clearance in front of, and in back of, this dimension for switches, handles, power cords, etc. New, these racks will cost you $$$, just call Gateway and ask them!
